Warm weather is coming! In Florida, it’s pretty much been here, but I know there are some of you out there who live in colder states that cannot wait for it to arrive. I thought it would be fitting to make some decorated ice cream cone cookies to celebrate! I gotta tell you….ice cream is my weakness. As of late, I’ve been eating it in frozen yogurt form, but these cookies work too!
Shhhh…c’mere. Can I confess something to you? I’ve been stalking people. Not in a crazy, weird, stalker kinda way, but in an “I admire your cookie work, so I’m going to learn everything you have to teach me” kinda way. I have some cookie idols that have been teaching me the ropes unbeknownst to them. If you haven’t seen the work of Sweet Sugarbelle, LilaLoa, The Bearfoot Baker and Arty McGoo (And so many others I know I’m forgetting), please click over to their sites.
Let me tell you about Sweet Sugarbelle’s Shapeshifter Cookie Cutter Set. I bought mine on Amazon, but I saw it at Hobby Lobby the other day too.
The set comes with 18 cookie cutters, 40 templates, 2 edgers, 11 instruction cards and 3 recipe cards. The instruction cards show two ways to use each cutter. SO many cute designs. I used this kit to make my ice cream cone cookies and I love the way they came out.
Here you can see my cookie, the template and cutter and the instructions on how to decorate the cookie in order. You use the template and a food writer to trace the little design onto your cookie. Next you outline your cookie using your traced design. After all your cookies are outlined, you can fill. The last thing I did was add the lines on the ice cream cone. I’m in love with the way these turned out!
There are some other Sugarbelle items I’m crushing on too, but I have to control myself for a minute. If you do a search on Amazon, you will see what I’m talking about. Oh my word!
I’m going to tuck one of these cookies into my son’s lunchbox today and bring the rest to work. I hope everyone enjoys them. And I hope YOU have a great day!
